I had planned to paint the moon light on this full moon night.
We came home late from RRCA and from getting Samuel at Basketball practice...
...I painted this mostly from memory (driving up the driveway)

"Rain Clearing"
Four Mexican Eagles flew directly over me fast.
They split up and moved from pens to dam to tree tops.

" Walking to Warm"
So cold!! I think the cows think it will warm up at any moment.
They hang around troughs but don't go to shelter below.

" Flee the Day"
When I came onto the deck to paint,  this coyote was close.
Sitting near corner of fenced yard, he watched me for a while.
I memorized his form as he trotted off, not concerned, then I added him to this painting.

"Hay Tips"
From Photo -- Our winters are usually mild.
Late in the day, the long shadows creep toward the horse barn
and only the tips of the grasses are lit up.

January 11 Leaving unfinished....shortly after this the cows left.  That is Pa and Nana's place behind on the hill.
They left too...Pa to heaven, Nana to assisted living.

Second one today - Romeo sketch - too cold - hands and paint got stiff.
Nana's tank is my favorite view these days.

Cold. More Ice and sleet on the way.
A cow died today in the bitter cold.

Yes, snow. Cows finally left the troughs.
Are behind the barn and in the pen. I think more will die.
Prolonged cold snap.
